Perry Olson

Perry Olson has been a State Farm Agent for 16 years and has grown his agencies to over 10,500 households and 25,000 policies. He opened his first agency in August, 2006, with only one team member. Perry operated this way for one year and then started growing his business. Currently he employs 30+ team members. 

Perry is originally from Webster, a small town in South Dakota. He displayed his entrepreneur abilities early in life. His first job in high school was in the local grocery store where he learned how to manage a business. Perry took this experience and knowledge and parlayed it into a business of his own. He opened a car detailing business which successfully employed several of his classmates and helped to finance college. After high school he attended South Dakota State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications and Theatre. 

In 2002 Perry relocated to Las Vegas and explored several career opportunities before going to work for a State Farm agent. In August, 2006, Perry opened the doors to his first agency. With no money in the bank, Perry decided to employ creative financing.  He went to several banks on the same day and applied for a credit card. He was approved for more than $250,000 and used credit cards to fund his agency. Perry has not only been successful with the launch of his agency but he also did it during an economic downturn. Las Vegas was an area suffering from a depressed real estate market with some of the highest foreclosure rates in the country. Perry opened his second new market agency (MOA) in January, 2014, and was one of the first agents in the company to qualify for President’s Club and Trophy Winner (top 10 in the nation) in both of his offices in the same year. In February 2021 Perry was the first agent to open the doors to a third Agency. 

Perry believes in helping others by giving back to communities and individuals. To date, he has funded over $100,000 in scholarships to deserving students attending his alma mater in hopes of giving them a head start in their futures. Perry is passionate about State Farm and has volunteered to speak over 350 times without compensation.  His goal is to help his team members and other agents be successful in a their career.
